It’s probably been a week since you have self-quarantined yourself due to coronavirus. It is quite obvious that you must be going out of your mind. But if you look at this time a bit positively maybe you might benefit from this time out from your daily life. Think about it. You can do all those little work at home that you have been procrastinating because of your job. Here is a list of such few things that will help you pass your time.
Tidy Up Your Home
Your home must have been getting messy if you go out for work every day. There is really not much time to clean up when you are running every day in the morning to reach your office. And we all know on weekends, we like to unwind and relax. So, here is your golden chance. Start cleaning up and throwing out trash or things that you have no use of anymore but you have been keeping them stored for years.
Remodel Your Room
Bored with the way your room or your home looks? Start remodelling. Sometimes changing the look of your room can feel good for your mind when you are stuck at home all day. Rearrange the position of your bed, dive into your wardrobe, clean the clutter on your table, and organize your bookshelf.
Do you have a stock of all those long movies or even recently released ones that you haven’t watched yet? Well, this is your time. Take out the list and start watching one by one.
Whether it’s Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory, Friends, or Vampire Diaries, the best way to pass your time is to binge-watch all these shows. You can also watch the ones that are on your list but haven’t got the time until now to watch.
Date Night With Your Quarantine Partner
Are you stuck at home with your partner? Then instead of getting on each other’s nerves all the time, utilise this time to connect with each other. Plan a date night at home. Cook both of yours’ favourite dishes, set the mood, set the table, and even dress up. Enjoy your date by chatting and reconnecting with each other. Tell each other stories of things that have been happening to you but haven’t really got the time to share.
Spend Time With Your Kids
Are you a working mother or a father? Then this is the perfect time to play catch up with your kids’ lives. Encourage them to share what has been happening in their life every day. Sit with them and talk about things that will help them in their life. Help them do their homework or teach them a maths problem. You can also spend time as a family and enjoy dinner sitting together.
Giving yourself time is important too. Have a ‘spa day’ at home. Have a great bath and also give yourself home-made facials. Indulge in manicure and pedicure with home products.
Read a Book
You can not possibly spend all your time watching series or movies. You will definitely get bored. When was the last time you picked up a book and finished it in one sitting? So pick up a book today. It can be a romance novel, an adventure book, or a thriller mystery. Just pick one that you have been dying to read and finish it. You can finish one every day and it will pass your time easily.
Learn An Instrument
There are always some things in our bucket list that we never get around to doing it. In most cases, it tends to be learning your favourite instrument. Bring out your instrument from the back of your closet and try and self-teach yourself.
Do An Online Course
Doing an online course will not only pass your time but it will be something new for you to do. Don’t take up a year-long course but rather a one that will be over within one-two months.
There are so many things that we wish to do but are unable to due to our busy life. Utilise this time and make every second count. We are always socialising through Instagram and WhatsApp anyway. So, instead of spending the whole day on your phone, spend time with your family and partner. Most of all, stay safe, stay home, and keep using sanitizer.
