“Successful mothers are not the ones that have never struggled. They are the ones that never give up, despite the struggles” – Sharon Jaynes
Motherhood is one of the most precious experiences in the world. Many say that until you have become a mother, you haven’t experienced anything. As a woman, being a mother is both a blessing and empowering. But being a single mother can be tough. Everything from visiting the ultrasound baby scan clinic to giving birth to your child and then being a mother to them, it all takes a lot of struggle and sacrifice. On this International Women’s Day, here are a few examples of successful single mothers who made it on their own.
J.K Rowling is a legend in herself, who succeeded in creating a whole new world filled with magic that continues to fascinate people of every age. But there was a time when she was struggling so much that she thought she had hit rock bottom. Not only that, she felt like a failure as a single mother. All she had was a daughter she adored, an old typewriter and a mind full of imaginations. From then all she did was write and take care of her daughter. And now she has become the most famous and the wealthiest author in the world by creating Harry Potter.
There is really no introduction needed for famous country music superstar Naomi Judd. But before she became this, she used to be a nurse and a single mom. She eventually started the Judds with her oldest daughter, whom she had at the age of 18, after splitting up with her husband. The duo became a groundbreaking sensational with more than 15 number one singles and millions of albums. She not only struggled to become a single mom of two but at the same time became a superstar.
Paula Deen, a mother of two sons, struggled a lot while they were growing up. A famous cooking show host, she started with providing catering services to bring food on their table. Later on, she started a restaurant before the food network called. Even though now her recipes are famous, there were times when she used to be one paycheck away from going broke. But amidst all these struggles, she has managed to singlehandedly look after her sons and won people over with her food and personality.
There are many more women like them who have not only managed to become a successful single mother but also have risen to the top. If you are a single mother or going to become one, hopefully, stories of these women will inspire you. This International Women’s day vow to yourself to never give up and don’t forget to take care of your baby by visiting the ultrasound baby scan clinic.
